The Matches will start on Friday 3th of February, on the venues of Valeggio sul Mincio, Guidizzolo, Volta Mantovana and Monzambano.
10 Nations at the start in the Men's, 6 in the Female; The winners of the last INDOOR World Championships which was helded in Rovereto in 2019 was the Italian Teams.
It was officially presented to the press on Saturday 28th January, at the “Salone delle Feste” of Palazzo Gonzaga in Volta Mantovana, in the presence of political and sports authorities, the fourth edition of the Indoor World Championship, which will be held in the provinces of Mantua and Verona, in the venues of Guidizzolo, Monzambano, Volta Mantovana and Valeggio sul Mincio.
Organized on behalf of the International Federation by the Italian Tamburello Federation, under the patronage of CONI and Sport&Salute SpA, the Lombardy Region and the Veneto Region, the Provinces of Mantua and Verona, the “Colline Moreniche del Garda” Association, also in collaboration with the respective municipalities, the Provincial Committees of Mantua and Verona, and with the Italian Tamburello Teams ASD Castellaro, ASDT Cereta and ASDT Virtus Guidizzolo.
The Federal President Mr. Edoardo Facchetti at the press conference underlined that the event but also the opening ceremony will see the partecipation of the most importants sport and politics personalities of the Lombardy and Veneto Regions, but National authorities too, such as the President of CONI Mr. Giovanni Malagò, the Provincial CONI Delegate Mr. Giuseppe Faugiana the Vice President of the Italian Tamburello Federation Mr. Andrea Fiorini, the Federal Councillor Mr. Benhur Tondini - who personally followed the organization of the event - together with the President of the Tamburello Lombardy Regional Committee Mr. Enzo Cartapati, of the Mantua Committee Mr. Giancarlo Rizzi and of the Verona Committee Mr. Luigi Baruffi, who also is a Fibat member and brought greetings from the President of the International Federation Mr. Bernard Barral; this personalities, in collaboration with the Italian Tamburello Teams Presidents Mr. Arturo Danieli for Castellaro, Mr. Giancarlo Grandi for Guidizzolo and Mr. Luigi Bertagna for Cereta will be present during all this event.
To say hello to this important manifestation, the Mayor of Volta Mantovana Mr. Paolo Bertaiola, together with the mayor of Guidizzolo Mr. Stefano Meneghelli, of Monzambano Mr. Giorgio Cappa and the Councillor for Sport of the Municipality of Valeggio sul Mincio Mr. Alessandro Remelli. For the province of Mantua the President Mr. Carlo Bottani and the Councillor for Sport Mr. Mattia Di Vita and the Honorable Mr. Carlo Maccari, always close to traditional sports.
All this personalities in their speeches underlined the importance of this World event, which will also allow to make known the territory of the Colline Moreniche del Garda and then wish the success of the event and thanks to all the volunteers who work to carry on the sport and who will engage in the three days of competitions.
Nourished the presence of the public with also the athletes of the women's Italian Team.
It will be the most important event of the year, with the participation of 10 nations, confirming a movement in ferment and constantly growing even beyond the European borders. Significant, in this sense, the presence of Brazil for South America and Benin for Africa.
For Europe present Italy, France, Catalonia, Germany, San Marino, Hungary, England and Portugal.
Holders of the world title are the Italian Teams that made en plein in December 2019 in Rovereto, Trentino.
10 Teams at the start in the men's category, divided into two qualifying groups: in group A we find Italy, Catalonia, Hungary, San Marino and Portugal; in group B France, Brazil, Germany, England and Benin. The first ranked team of each group will go directly to the semi-finals, with the winners of the cross-play-off between the second and third ranked.
In the women's group a single qualifying round for the 6 Teams: France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Catalonia and Benin. Semifinals will see the matches between first and fourth classified and the second and third.
The start of the matches with the qualifying phase on Friday morning, on all of the four sporty structures. In the afternoon at 16h15 in Volta Mantovana the official opening ceremony of the event, at the presence of Mr. the President of CONI Giovanni Malagò, the Presidents of the National Federations and local authorities.
The qualifying matches will close on Saturday morning and then, from the afternoon, will be the quarter finals matches and the challenges for the backup positions.
Semifinals on Sunday morning in Valeggio sul Mincio and Volta Mantovana and finals on Sunday afternoon in Valeggio sul Mincio.
